Day 31 - Canada 🇨🇦
Today we’re heading to Canada - a country I’ve briefly visited. I didn’t stay for long enough and didn’t see nearly enough.
Back in 2011 when Joe and I were living in a ramshackle apartment in Boston we decided to rent the cheapest car possible and embark on a 900 mile weekend road trip.
We visited Quebec City and Montreal. Want an interesting fact? Quebec City is North America’s only walled city. It’s also by far the city the most European feel of any I’ve visited in North America.
I tried eating both poutine and snails for the first time. (I liked both.)
We crashed the Montreal Jazz Festival and I got the opportunity to swim in a pool of clothes with a disfigured mannequin. It was a weekend getaway that ticked all of the boxes.
Anyway, I’d really love to go back and explore Canada properly - it’s bigger than the EU and has the world’s longest coastline, so it may take a while.
P.s. apologies - all of the photos today are mine.
